A Doll's House: Handbound Book

Redesign a banned book giving the reader insight into the reason it was banned.

A Dolls House, by Henrik Isben was banned due to 19th century women acting out when they should be content with the life their husband has provided for them. My design emphasizes the main character Nora. By bolding and bringing her name out into the left margin, it shows her dominant presence throughout the book. Other characters shown in a lighter shade, help refer the reader’s attention back to Nora. I also created the slip cover to reflect a more modern take on the story. Having a woman's eye as the main focus is letting you know that you are getting a look from Nora's perspective.
